No, this isn’t an April Fool’s joke. My new novel HUSTLE is finally out there. The coming media onslaught (yeah, I use that term loosely–and sarcastically) is probably going to annoy you a bit. I’ll be doing a fair amount of guest blogs, interviews, readings, and review soliciting. Sorry, man. It’s the way it is. Spam city. Snubnose Press allowed me plenty of control regarding the release date, the cover, the content, but with that comes a fair expectation of the author putting the book (and himself) out there. You know, like Hyman Roth says, “This is the business we’ve chosen.”
Oh, yes. The business. If any of y’all are interested, I’ve got several advance copies still here at HQ, ready to ship. What makes them special? Well … there’s no price on them (which, in a way, makes them priceless) and there are a few spacing anomalies in the typesetting that are fixed on the final (first) edition. I’ll be happy to sign ’em and ship ’em.
Speaking of fixin’ problems, I can’t tell you how much of a help R Thomas Brown was in getting this book together. I thought that he preferred his contributions to be Oz-like (behind the curtains) so I omitted him from the book’s acknowledgements, but in reality, he should have been up at the top. Sorry if I’m outing your invaluable contribution to the Snub family, but thanks, Ron, for everything. Here’s my favorite picture of him–I like to think that he’s toasting me (and when you click on the picture, you’ll be transported to his book, Hill Country.)
Anyway … Hustle’s a good book. I’m proud of it. It’s my first full-length novel and it’s got enough grit to meet whatever your grit quota is. If you buy it, and you like it, please don’t be afraid to review it. (I guess that’d go for any book you read. Authors do love the reviews. The good ones, anyway)
The rest I’ll leave to fate.

Thanks, man. Yeah, I’m on the tight SF schedule, but we’ll figure something out.
Did you have any plans to make American Static and Hustle into audio books? I own both Kindle versions but would live to have the audio versions as well. Thanks!
